Lou Reed dead at 71

according to the rolling stones magazine Lou Reed, the founder of the  band the Velvet Underground and one of the most influential in rock music, passed awayat the age of 71 in New York.

Reed died this sunday of an illness related to a May liver transplant, according to Andrew Wylie, who said the singer had been frail for months.
